June 2026 - Bridge Builders

Lifeline is partnering with Grace Reformed Church in Wyoming this June with a program they have created called Bridge Builders. Grace is stepping in to fill a gap left by other programs no longer available and will be offering this for students at Gladiola Elementary School right here in Wyoming. Grace has already developed a relationship with the school and saw a great opportunity to continue to enhance that relationship. Some of the final details are being worked out, but we wanted to share the important info we have with all of you and encourage you to pray about volunteering to be a part of this.

As Grace Church continues to prepare, they now have two important links to share with us. The first one is for their volunteer sign-up. The format should look familiar as they are using Sign Up Genius for this! This sign up will help them to organize the roles and ensure they have the support needed for each day of the program. We will be talking more about all of this in the coming weeks in church.

What is Bridge Builders?
It’s a program to engage with students from kindergarten to 2nd grade and involves projects to help the kids with fine motor skills (paper cutting projects), teaching nursery rhymes, reading, and other activities. This is really to fill the gaps at each grade level from the yearly school curriculum. They will be extending an invitation for teachers from our community to be involved, but it is not “summer school”, rather just a time to meaningfully engage with the kids.

The classrooms will be divided between the grade levels, and they plan to start with up to 70 kids this first time out. They want all the kids who will be participating to sign up by April 30, so we should know exactly how many kids will be there by then. So far, we are on board as well as Together Church, which is just down the road from us!

Dates, Times, and Other Important Details
This program will run from June 1 to June 25, with four days each week (Monday through Thursday) and will be at Grace Church. It will start at 9 AM and run until 11:30 AM. They may be offering a breakfast option, which would require signing up and having those kids there by 8:30 AM. There will be a schedule for each day, including snack time, and a sack lunch will be provided at the end of the time each day. They will also have a scheduled game day outdoors with organized group events.
