Children's Ministry Director

We are currently seeking the right candidate to lead our Children's Ministry. We will be accepting resumes until August 1st, 2026.


Children's Ministry Job Description

  

Position Description: Provide leadership to the overall program development, coordination, implementation, and direction to volunteers for the Children’s Ministry (Birth-5th Grade) at Lifeline Church.


Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and pass a standard background check with no criminal history.
  • Be fully committed to Christ as Savior and Lord and feel called to serve within a church.
  • Be passionate about ministry to children and families.
  • Have the ability to provide leadership and effectively communicate with others.
  • Works well with children.
  • Is flexible, dependable, creative, and has excellent organizational skills.
  • Work well in a staff and team setting.
  • Has a faithful, available, and teachable spirit.
  • Ability to learn and use our implemented technology to manage volunteers and schedules (Breeze management system).


Responsibilities:

  • Be a regular worshipper and participant at Lifeline Community Church.
  • Oversight of Children's Ministry (birth-grade five) and its annual operating budget.
  • Recruit volunteers and ensure volunteer applications and background checks are completed before scheduling new volunteers. This may be done with the assistance of the church administrator.
  • Schedule volunteers for Children’s Ministry as well as activities and events when needed.
  • Ensure proper procedures for registration, check-in, and check-out of children are in place and followed.
  • Ensure policies and procedures for child safety are in place and followed by volunteers, parents, and church attendees. Oversee the development of children’s programming and events throughout the year, including weekly gatherings, summer activities, and special events.
  • Ensure cleaning and organization of classrooms and storage areas, including sanitizing toys and equipment, and stocking necessary supplies.
  • On Sunday mornings, greet volunteers and families, observe classrooms, and children-teacher interactions.
  • Fill in as a teacher in another teacher’s absence when necessary or be part of the regular teaching rotation. Empower, equip, and encourage parents to be spiritual leaders to their children. This includes responsibility for all Children’s Ministry communication to parents and the greater church community.
  • Pray for the volunteers and the families attending Lifeline and the community surrounding Lifeline.
  • Meet regularly with the Pastor, staff, and Consistory of Lifeline for encouragement, accountability, and to report any concerns.


Time Commitment and Compensation: 10 hours per week. Compensation to be discussed as part of the interview process.


Accountability: To the Consistory through the Pastor
